Visit of Spanish delegation from ports, energy companies and government

Last week, we were pleased to host the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) | Partner in Sustainable Development and a delegation from Spain at our site in Rotterdam, together with our partner Power2X, to share more about the e-SAF hub project we are developing. The group included representatives from the Spanish government, ports, energy companies, and project developers.

The visit was part of the Spanish-Dutch hydrogen mission. It was a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen connections, and explore the development of maritime corridors for green hydrogen. Spain’s potential for producing affordable renewable hydrogen, combined with the Netherlands’ advanced energy infrastructure, creates a unique opportunity to accelerate the energy transition across Europe.

A key part of the visit was discussing our plans with Power2X to build a major facility in Rotterdam that will produce and store sustainable fuel for the aviation industry. Set to begin operations in 2030, this project will provide a reliable supply of sustainable aviation fuel to help reduce the aviation sector’s carbon footprint.
