Some of the best environmental work happens when people come together and take action. Last week, over 40 Advario colleagues from our Rotterdam headquarters swapped their desks for boats and nets as part of our third year partnering with Plastic Whale, the Rotterdam-founded organization behind the world’s first professional plastic fishing company.

Working from five boats, the team collected around ten large bags of plastic and other waste, alongside some genuinely unexpected finds, from scooter helmets to a vacuum cleaner. 

Our global CSR program is about creating opportunities for colleagues to make a positive contribution in the communities and environments where we operate. Every initiative reflects local priorities, but together they demonstrate our shared commitment to protecting the environment, supporting our communities, and learning through action.

Our partnership with Plastic Whale Foundation has also shown us the value of collaboration. Their knowledge, passion and practical approach have helped us better understand the impact of plastic pollution while inspiring us to play our part, however small.
