5 Questions to Claas Pinkenburg

Meet Claas Pinkenburg, our Senior Vice President Strategy, Portfolio & Sustainability at Advario. We asked him 5 burning questions on his day-to-day business at our new company.

1. What makes the new company Advario so special?

With Advario we aspire to be a frontrunner in transformation in the storage industry by truly focusing on the energy transition and its new requirements. We therefore also have one of the most ambitious sustainability agendas in in the industry targeting Net-Zero by 2040. We have a strong believe that we can only be successful in the future by working closely with our partners and customers.

2. Where do you see Advario grow to in 5 years?

We will continue to grow strongly in the areas of chemicals and gas and particularly also supporting the transition of these sectors to more sustainable products and supply chains. In addition, we will pursue investments into New Energy infrastructure such as Hydrogen Import and Export infrastructure or CO2 storage. Also, we will continue to significantly expand the share of sustainable products at our existing assets.

3. What would you like to achieve within your role for Advario?

Building the foundation for sustainable growth in the future, as well as paving the way for Net-Zero operations of our own company.

4. What does a typical day look like for you?

If I’m in Hamburg, ride my bike to work; check-in with the teams including  frequent updates with my colleagues in the management team; meet partners and customers to explore future joint opportunities and developments; participate in strategy workshops for e.g. the transition of our existing assets, other strategic initiatives; discuss with the clusters and terminals their sustainability roadmaps; meet industry peers to explore further opportunities to make steps-forward on sustainability in our industry; and in between there is always time for a quick coffee chat with colleague

5. Any (welcome) message for people who just joined Advario?

The future is in our hands
